Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Bosan 2021

From Marano di Valpolicella comes a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, left on the vines to mature for a longer-than-average period. The wine undergoes maceration on the skins to extract their full potential and concludes with ageing in steel tanks and bottles.

This remarkable vintage was marked by rainfall and mountain snowfall in the coldest season, followed by mild temperatures and precipitation in the spring. It ended with a hot summer and a 15-day late harvest.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Bosan 2021 is a harmonious wine with intense cherry and ripe red fruit aromas. Its structure, elegance, and softness create an enveloping and enthusiastic tasting experience

climate trend

Winter records temperatures in the seasonal average and widespread rainfall, allowing a good water supply to be stored. In spring, temperatures drop below the national average, but the vine's phenological development proceeds smoothly. The large temperature variations between night and day in August, balanced by humidity, allow for improved ripening conditions in the final weeks before harvest.

vinification & maturation

Following a late harvest compared to the bunches destined for other productions, the Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes undergo a 10-12 day maceration to achieve their full potential. Malolactic fermentation is followed by maturation in stainless steel and at least three months of bottle ageing.

The vineyard

Bosan wines are born from a single vineyard located nearby the town of Marano di Valpolicella, at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level.

This area, remarked by terraced vineyards trained in the ‘pergola Veronese’ system, features a limestone soil of volcanic origin and ideal exposure.
All these elements come together to create dynamic, elegant, and distinctive wines, such as the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Bosan.
